You gotta love Butte, America. We just flew in and out of the airport and it was like another universe compared to your average airport experience. The TSA and airline people actually smiled, looked you in the eye, gave you pertinent information and didn't seem resentful doing it. The car rental people were friendly and helpful. In fact, I had reason to call them over something we lost and they were super helpful. I called the airport number and a human being actually answered the phone and he wasn't in a foreign country!! Parking and car return is simple and straight forward. Ok, it's not a metropolis so issues of crowding etc. aren't a problem but the people do their jobs in a manner we could all learn from. Good job!
Delta tells you to arrive a minimum of 2 hrs before your flight. It's currently 55 minutes before my scheduled flight and security isn't even open. Might be more of a Delta issue than BTM but they should coordinate a little bit.
I have been flying into this airport for work for awhile in all different seasons. Great small airport, wonderful staff and friendly TSA. There are no extras here- food and coffee so be prepared. There is a small bar inside the gate area but I haven't tried it.
Car rental is straightforward and Enterprise will pick you up right outside just steps from baggage.
The Delta crew and Butte's TSA are wonderful!
If you like to gamble, this is the airport for you! You might fly out, you might not! All depends on the weather that day. Employees are great and very friendly, You need to know before purchasing a ticket from here what your dealing with. Beautiful country! Be ready to rent a car and race to another airport.
